Aquinas Hall residents are #backtoschool at Providence College, and this project was a true Summer Slammer for our team.

Five months of preconstruction investigation and planning went into preparing for the compressed summer schedule. Pull Plan sessions, mock-up rooms and daily coordination with foremen helped the team establish a clear sequence of work and keep milestones moving throughout the summer, with handoffs happening every day.

The scope was extensive: brand new mechanical, electrical, fire alarm and sprinkler systems; bathroom renovations across four floors; 260 new windows; 46 new curtain walls; new doors, frames and hardware; new finishes throughout Phase 1; and work to existing MEP systems and site improvements.

As Superintedent Tim Carraher shared, the project required a “we can do this” mindset, backed by trust and respect from the top down. “Nothing is impossible and no timeframe is too short when people work together for the same goal."

New England Institute of Technology (NEIT), General Dynamics Electric Boat, and the U.S. Navy Submarine Industrial Base (SIB) recently announced the Shipbuilding Advanced Institute for Learning (SAIL), a major expansion of the campus’s workforce training program.

We`re working with NEIT to triple the training space from 30,000 to 100,000 sf, creating more than 20 classrooms for hands-on instruction in welding, shipfitting, machining, electrical, and other skilled trades.

With approximately 3,000 new Electric Boat hires expected to train at SAIL each year, the improved facility will play an important role in preparing workers for careers in Rhode Island’s shipbuilding and advanced manufacturing industries.

The Westhill Vikings aren`t the only ones witnessing their new building materialize this school year. Major K-12 construction projects are happening simultaneously around the region. 🏫🚧

In Warwick, RI, the students of Pilgrim High School and Toll Gate High School are #backtoschool, as they continue to watch their future schools take shape right in their own backyards. The two projects total nearly 400,000 sf and represent the second largest construction project in Warwick’s history.

We’ve worked closely with school leadership, city officials, project partners, and the community throughout construction to ensure we deliver exceptional facilities for generations of Patriots and Titans.

"Dimeo has treated the schools as though they were building them for their own community," said School Committee Chairman Shaun Galligan.

Construction is officially underway for the General Dynamics Electric Boat campus at the former Crystal Mall in Waterford, CT.

“What we’re looking forward to is the opportunity to do things in different ways than we’ve ever done them,” said Electric Boat President Mark Rayha, “so that we do things smarter, do things faster, and we can deliver more submarines to the nation.”

After more than 15 years of planning, coordination, and phased redevelopment, the transformation of Old Colony is complete!
 
The final ribbon cutting for The Anne M. Lynch Homes at Old Colony marked the completion of 887 affordable homes across six phases and the culmination of a long-term effort to redevelop one of Boston’s oldest public housing communities. Throughout the event, residents shared what this investment has meant to their families, their neighbors, and the future of the community they call home.
 
We’re proud to have contributed to this historic effort and congratulate the many partners, tradespeople, and residents who helped make it possible. Having recently completed Phase 6, it was especially rewarding to see the full vision for Old Colony realized and celebrated by the community.

Nearly 75 years after the original Curtis Apartments were built, this milestone represents a significant investment in the future of affordable housing in Worcester. Phase 1 has delivered 129 new affordable homes, with additional phases already underway as the broader redevelopment continues.

We officially broke ground on the new Westhill High School in Stamford, CT!

Expected to be the largest school construction project in Connecticut history, the new 450,000-square-foot facility will provide a modern learning environment designed to support more than 2,400 students. The new school will feature updated academic spaces, career pathway programs, athletic facilities, and performing arts spaces while allowing the existing school to remain operational throughout construction.

The groundbreaking brought together city leaders, school officials, project partners, and Roxbury Elementary School student ambassadors, who will be among the first students to attend the new school when it opens in 2029.

We are proud to be part of the team bringing this vision to life and look forward to seeing the project take shape in the years ahead.
