Dimeo Construction Company served as the Construction Manager for the Design/Build Offshore Wind Foundation Facility at the Port of Providence in Rhode Island. The project consists of one single-story modular operations building and two high-bay manufacturing facilities that will be used to assemble offshore wind generators.
Construction and related site improvements were completed by local union labor, thanks to a project labor agreement between Dimeo and the Rhode Island Building and Construction Trades Council.
The project is the base for the advanced fabrication and assembly of foundation platforms for wind projects planned in Rhode Island, Connecticut, and New York. This effort is part of Ørsted A/S and Eversource Energy’s forty-million-dollar investment in the Providence and Quonset ports for a slew of major wind farm projects.
