Dimeo acted as General Contractor for this new courthouse in downtown Boston. The seven-story building provides new accommodations for four specialized groups: MA Land Court, Boston Probate and Family Court, the Boston Juvenile Court and the Boston Housing Court. Each group has transaction offices, courtrooms and judges’ lobbies and shared common support functions such as libraries, lounge areas, jury pool, security and information services.
The courthouse holds (18) courtrooms, public transaction and waiting areas, the Suffolk Registry of Deeds, a cafeteria and underground parking for 100 cars. Project scope consisted of construction of foundations, concrete basement structure, steel superstructure, exterior stone cladding on CMU backup walls, interior and exterior finishes, fire protection, plumbing and heating.
