Dimeo Construction

Meeting an exceptionally tight schedule, Dimeo completed the design/build construction of this new elementary school for the City of Providence in 140 days. The two-story building is designed to contain two schools within a school, an educational concept that emphasizes the benefit of smaller classroom settings. Dimeo design/built the school to reflect this concept by constructing 30 classrooms with 8 classrooms designed for special education, art, music and science.

The school, which accommodates 750 students in kindergarten through grade 5, also offers a library, computer lab, cafeteria and student registration area that handles all incoming students throughout the system. Adjacent to the school is a 14,700 sf recreation center with a gymnasium, locker rooms, and an 8,000 sf community center. The exterior of the school is clad in multi-colored split-faced concrete block, chosen for its high endurance and low maintenance, accented with green aluminum windows.
